THE CONCEPT

Mama San is a Seminyak stalwart, a much-loved culinary hub for foodies keen to chow down on authentic flavours from across Asia in a modern convivial space. That’s not to say the place stays the same. Last year, Mama San extended into the space next door to create an expanded (and a little more stylish) lunch and dinner dining room with an open-kitchen emphasis on grilled dishes such as grilled king prawns and fiery thigh chicken and wood-fired pork tomahawk. More recently, the upstairs Supper Club opened for swanky group dinners that promise whiskey-based digestifs into the wee hours.

THE PLACE

While the change is beyond physical, it’s the new interiors that you’ll notice first. Mama San Bali is certainly well-dressed, with plush green banquette seating, walls of dark timber, ample mirrors and a scattering of chandeliers.

Perched just above Mama San Bali is speakeasy-inspired drinking den Mama San Supper Club.

Ever-evolving, the menu crafted for groups of 8+ changes according to what’s trend and in season, alongside a lengthy list of premium-focused wines and creative cocktails.

Exclusive events and private functions are welcomed by this intimate space. The lounge will be no stranger to pop-up collaborations with renowned chefs, or musical acts which promise to entertain guests well into the night.
